Crazy rafting trip with 2 nights in Þórsmörk

For our first trip of this semester we are going for a crazy rafting trip down the river Hvítá. After alot of wetness and jumping in the river we will head into Þórsmörk, one of Icelands most beautifull places.

We will meet on the gravel parking space in front of the main building of HÍ at 11:30. The bus will leave no later then 11:45 !!!!! We will be arriving in Þórsmörk around dinner time. You will have to provide your dinner for Friday night yourselves.

Saturday you can do whatever you like, but we suggest that you go for a hike around the area. There are alot of nice places to see. For Saturday night ESN will provide dinner for everyone. Please note that if you are a vegetarian then please let us know!!!

We will leave at 12:00 on Sunday back to Reykjavík. So at 11:45 everyone has to have their stuff packed and we have to clean out all the garbage out of the cabins.

What you will be needing for the trip:

Warm clothes that can get wet (and stay wet for the rest of the trip). NO COTTON!!!!!!! Cotton only gets colder when it gets wet. You will get suits for the rafting and some shoes but you have to wear very warm socks and very, very ,very warm sweaters, because the wetsuit does not cover the upper body, only the lower body. You can if you get cold very easily wear wool-leggins underneath the wet-suit. I also reccomend something for your head, but something that can fit under a helmet!

Warm clothes for the rest of the trip + good shoes.

Breakfast for Saturday + Sunday.

Dinner for Friday.

Drinks.

Sleeping bag.

Only 70 people acn come on this trip. Last chance to pay for the trip is before 14:00 Monday 7th of September.

12.900 for ESN members and 15.500 for non-ESN members. Please remember your ESN cards when you go on the trip, so we can verify that you have paid the right amount.
